UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

I just read the glacial bit and suddenly lost my normal urge to leap in for a little swim.

Oh, man. This looks so beautiful! Would love to take a dip in the calm pool ... er, you said glacier water? BRRRR! I think no dip is a better bet! I can just see a bear splash into the river's oppsite side and emerge with a BIG fish in its mouth. And a racoon family foraging among the stones on the gravel bar. And the sound - perpetual white noise, so restful. My, you've had wonderful fortune to go camping like this! And, so many great photo opportunities! Looking foreward to more! Keep up the good work. :-) Nice to hear/see from you again. Neil is kind of like vanished - we wonder where/how he is. Rob is on way back to UK from US visit.

Yes that water is really cold! :D Wonderful capture Bill! I hope you are enjoying all this hiking, it does build up a good appetite. ;)

OH, I bet the water is really cold. I once had a bath in a little lake where the water constantly came from a high mountain with snow. The water was SOOO icy cold, that we got spasms in the toes :D But this place here looks so interesting and beautiful.

Best campsite ever in a temperate rain forest! :) I'm glad you caught this straight line thing ... I sat and stared at it and never lifted my camera. Excellent abstract composition!

Lovely clear water, Bill! This is interesting - so straight. It almost looks like a boat ramp. Very cool shot, Bill!

What a great find! I wonder if there's a big tree trunk under all that? And that water is beautifully clear and almost inviting ;} Looks like a great campsite!

That's a beautiful shot, the river would be a very soothing sound, too. Of course, I wouldn't have been able to resist all those rocks, too... Lovely capture!

a must full-size. (I see everything zoomed, but some need to be shouted: Zoom is a Must!!!) Full size, this opens up into a wonderful tapestry of shape, texture and light. It would be wonderful very large. (And in RAW, if you didn't already do it in RAW.) The diagonals are wonderuful, the near-square in the right half (bottom) is almost man-made-looking, the contrast of pebbles with water with saturated sand (on the right) is wonderful, and the snippets of greenery all over are fine adornments. A shot of the tapestries of nature, very clear, and very enticing. And cropped/cut off in great places to make this except feel like a little world all its own. I really like this shot. The kind of shot I'd work a long time on, to get it right. Beautiful gentle work, Bill.

beautiful and natural, I could sit there for a while reading or just listening to the world go by! Great POV Bill. Thanks for the comments mate! :-) Rob
