Description
Taken at Andrew Molera State Park along the Big Sur coastline. I generally shoot with the sun at my back (except for sunrises & sunsets, of course), but sometimes I'll try to shoot towards the sun to see what happens. This was shot at about 5 p.m., several hours before sunset...

This capture is spectacular! - one can almost hear and see, the apparent silver waves after waves, rolling in against the black basalt rocks ... or is it? even with my novice experience in photography, I have also tried that, with some amazing results - Kudos Claude, BB

Excellent result! I really like the way your postwork turned out ... more at the top and less in the foreground ... VERY nice!

there is a lot of magic about shooting into the light, and in my opinion you have made a great sucess of it in this case. A wonderful picture

I love the way the light hits the sand - It must have taken a lot of patience to get that moment when the light is just right.

as one who shoots water at dawn quite a bit, I was drawn to this immediately. This vista, of course, is far more dramatic than the flatter vistas of a lake (Lake Michigan, in my case), and you captured it in a serene and sensuous way. The massive activity of cliffs and water in the background morph into an almost serene scene of silken sands and rock in the foreground, where everything concludes with beautiful sensual textures and beautiful light as well. Your (I assume) toned-down hues, a semi b&w, make us concentrate on pure form & texture, where that lower portion moves & speaks with beautiful finesse. Beautiful work, and a beautiful water & shore shot too. The water-saturated sand is subtly captured...
