Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The good thing about birthday wishes is that they don't have expiration dates, unless they're dairy-based. I think it's safe to say that this isn't a dairy-based birthday wish. It's a gorgeous one, though and it looks so peaceful and inviting. It's a wonderful blend of light and shadow and so many wonderful lines. Trees are pretty awesome like that. Okay, a part of their awesomeness is due in part to the fact that they're large and...well...awe inspiring...But they're also just cool things to have around. I love the shadows in this and the wonderful verticals and then that nice, wandering path. It's very clean...very restful. Really, really nice work.

It looks like a wonderful place to explore Marilyn.

I can see myself taking a relaxing walk along the paths with the trees as a shady place to stop and reflect on nature. Beautiful shot!

Love that winding path; cool and beautifully inviting shot!

What a gorgeous place! I love that path, and the light through the trees is marvellous. Thank you so much! :) (We'll be home in a couple days ... can't wait to catch up!)

love chip's comment---a non-dairy-based birthday gift. (Probably vegan.) Beautiful moody shot, a very western looking forest, and the light & shadow are beautiful, as is your softening of the textures, and the counterpoint of light & shadow. Perfect for Tara, who's been traveling through places like this on & off in the last few years. It's become associated with her & bill by now...even though this kind of place is really a marilyn place. Very moody soft and beautiful. I'm only commenting 1 or 2 images per gallery, every few days now, to let my hands heal. But it's always a pleasure to come back here again. I'll do more soon...beautiful work.
