Description
Five of 75 fotos I snapped of various sections of the structure back on 9/13/09, on an early Sunday afternoon when no one was around to contaminate the scene.
Absolutely ZOOM worthy.
The top photo shows the main entrance.
The Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (or CCPA) is a 154,000-square-foot (14,300 m2) entertainment and music venue located in the Cerritos Towne Center of Cerritos, California. It is owned and operated by the City of Cerritos, and opened its doors to the public on January 9, 1993 and hosts opera, cabaret, jazz, dance, magic, drama, musicals and comedy performances as well as private functions. Its season runs from August to May. Source: Wikipedia Encyclopedia.
Okay, I didn't have Bournemouth or Chicago to photograph, so I figured this beauty, with its lovely walled mosaic patterns, would do instead. It is part of the complex that includes the Memorex Building and Sheraton Hotel, previously shown.
Adjo, thankx for hopping aboard, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Superb photos of this most attractively detailed structure, Harry. If I lived near there I should be a very frequent visitor to all that goes on.

Wonderful array of views, expertly taken, Harry; it's a lovely center, and so much better than anything that was there back in the 1970s!

Really spectacular architecture. Great captures of this place. The mosaics are beautiful. The most amazing feat is that there are no people in these photos.

First, I was flattered when this went up, as a resident of Chicago (and photographer of Chicago, though there are others who've shown Chicago with their camera as well), that you mentioned my town alongside Andrea's, as comparison to yours. I just love to see LA and Southern California through your eyes: First because it's a completely different world than I see, and more importantly because you are its chronicler for so many qualities that most people rarely show or see of that huge & vast city of yours, not to mention the area around it. Some of us in the Midwest think of S. California as a whole continent...As for this place, as others have stated, you captured this wild and wildly varied facade beautifully here. The 1st shot sets the tone (the 'establishing shot' as filmmakers call it) with very clear & bright tones & a wholly clear sky; your 2d shot shows off the amazing greens of this place---I mean the greens in the bldg design---along with those almost Art Deco motifs, and you included part of the parking lot, which feels like an extension to the wall's design (I love the inclusion). The 3d shot shows a whole other feeling, with similar geometrics only larger; the 4th gives us a little more of that glass tower & all the trees & greenery around it, and this is the point where you've shown us that this is quite a varied structure. And the last is the most dramatic of all, and the most 'architectural', with the angles, awnings (sic), juxtaposition of the adjoining walls, antenna, trees, etc all conflicting & contrasting across space. (And dramatic perspective too.) The last is an architect's vision. The montage has real in your face hues and a lot of different views. I can see why you shot so many of these, and probably had to think about which to include...It's a fine collection, Harry, and done with an architect's eye. Really fine work.
