One wonders. Perhaps my gamma settings are different so I took it into P.S. and played around and indeed, a very little and quite centered outline. One iris in passing. I'm hope that I'm that lucky but with my luck I'll be etched in the skin of a passing slug ;p Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I truely believe in this stuff, but I think some of us are meant to see things at certain times - I'm not seeing anything... maybe if you did a quick sketch and inset it inside the picture we could all see what you're talking about.

This is a lovely capture of these pretty iris and you must have been in heaven at an iris farm seeing all the different colours. When I zoomed this I could see a shadow but not really a spirit worse luck just a fuzzy shadow.

well I saw several spirits and faces, etc, but having drawn flowers, I got accustomed to all those spirits living inside. I'm not a good barometer, is what I'm trying to say, lol. But flowers are loaded with so many primal forms and so many sensual forms that it's natural they should suggest creatures of many kinds. As for the soul who passed, even people who have doubt about life beyond this one have to wonder if something doesn't linger after the body drops off; some essence, some presence. And if it does, why wouldn't it show up in one of the most sensuous forms on earth; and a form that represents the call to more life? I would be thrilled to think that someone I adored was dwelling---if even for a short time---in the folds of an iris. Anyone who's painted or drawn these amazing creatures, or just looked at them a long time, can understand why life & death could be wrapped up in their every fold... Your capture, itself, has real spirit. I know it's untouched, but one can see the flower's power in its raw form. The light in this shot radiates, it makes the flowers stand out like little super novas. "Iris" is from the Latin for "rainbow" (yep, it's another Mark etymology: You have my permission to leave the room or read a book---I have way too many of these in my brain). And I don't know it it's connected to the flower's name: But they burst out like a rainbow, and they have some of the most sensuous folds of any flower, so somehow 'rainbow' seems to fit. And the thought that someone who passed would appear to us through the cosmic folds of such a flower is very touching. It could be someone leaving a message to the embodied...Also, the greenery in your shot is saturated with light too; and I think, while this piece is very different from your massively sensual paintings, it somehow has 'carol' in it, in its deep light, the sweeping presence throughout, and in just the love that permeates the shot. And maybe, in taking these shots, you were unconsciously making an act of 'completion', giving voice to a soul who was reaching out, even if you didn't intend to do so. Because we're called to things for reasons we don't even know half the time, so... There's a valley in India called the "Valley of Flowers," where the scents are so strong that people have hallucinated from walking there. (That's power!) And one yogini mused that perhaps those scents are the songs of souls long passed. So when a visitor gets 'drunk' there---from the scents---they're actually getting imbued with the songs of souls long passed. Just some thoughts in response to your photo. It's a beautiful photo, untouched or no, and filled with light. And nice that you let your viewers seek the voices inside it, for a reposeful moment...Lovely upload...
