Description
Found this little (4mm) Fruit Fly - Trupanea vicina, on my flowers yesterday. I call it elusive since there are only 3 images of it posted on Bugguide.net. I have only seen it once long ago and this is the first time I was able to catch good images of it.
Beautiful little things with their patterned wings and bright green eyes. Needless to say, I was stoked to finally get some photos of one.
