Description
This is an experiment that I've never seen: reproducing a famous painting "as is". Some statistics: 529.000 faces, 15 lights, 23 m. to render.
I think you all should know already the original picture (1931), currently at the N/Y M.O.M.A., and one of the most viewed images from the 20th century, but here's a link on the net: http://www.ricks.edu/Ricks/Employee/DavisR/Art/Dali,%20Persistence%20of%20Memory.JPG
The question, my friends, is: what would Dali think about if he could view my version of his work? Please tell me.

Hello, Dali! Great job!

Mr. King, what you did here, is something different. This is freaking goddamned topten-of-all-times-work. I did not know, that these kind of images can be done so greatly with computer. Dont ever stop what you are doing, or what pills you are taking, this is absolutely fantastic.

Holy crap - amazing display of 3D skill, SO much attention to detail...did you sample textures from the real painting? What I'd LOVE to see is your picture in a 3D stereo pair (a 2nd render w/camera shifted slightly to 1 side) - imagine Dali's famous work in 3 dimensions!
