Description

Captured 5/20/12, at the beautiful Cerritos Towne Center, located in beautiful Cerritos, California. Genuinely ZOOM worthy. I love this building, and have tons/tonnes of fotos of it from all sides and angles. Photo #2 shows the back of the building, which is identical to the front. Actually, this is no longer called the Memorex Building I first photographed in 2009 - possibly because tape is not so popular anymore - but is now a huge edifice that leases out office space to such corporations as Time Warner Cable, LG Electronics, and the Pioneer Medical Group. My neck didn't hurt from looking up after this shoot because I used the rotating LCD monitor on my Canon to snap these pics. Otherwise, it's Vertigo City. No more lying on the ground to take photos, either. Tally-ho, thankx for popping in, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Is it real...or is it Memorex? I remember those commercials well. Impressive building and shots. Love the first one because of those gorgeous Jacarandas.

You used to lie on the ground to take shots of high rises??? Give this man a reward! I have to remember that! (Of course if I did that in Chicago, an ambulance would take me away.) Craning up isn't fun either, I agree: I've actually fallen a couple of times after straightening up, in Chicago. You straighten up, and---boom: You're down...Well my connection's sputtering again so let me say this more quickly than I'd like: I do recognize the bldg from before, but after the first two 'establishing' shots---where, btw, the second is captured with no sides (!) so it could just as well be a wall of glass!---you go into 3 wonderful architectural shots, with just what architects have in mind: The juxtaposition of angles, light, textures, hues, even flares, etc. The flares work wonders here (love them in 4 & 5), and the visual music throughout is terrific. With your jutting angles & angled pov's, I understand why you took so many views. Love these shots---more vivid architectural work from you! Just shows you that a single wall can be a whole world in the right hands...

This really is a beautiful highrise building and these are splendid captures. How amazing to have a rotating screen, that must really come in handy.

Excellent collage Harry and I liked the POVs for #1 and #3. Are those cellphone ears up along the roof line in #1 or just design?

I love it too, Harry; what a great building! Your collage shows all the beautiful bits to perfection, and the bonus of flowering trees really sets it off. Well done in every way!
