the salmon is the fish of the Pacific Northwest Indian tribes and is figured in almost all the motifs you see
besides that, it tastes great! the real fish that is, not the statue

I was thinking that these salmon look like trouble. LOL. And you know what came to mind? A skit on an old TV show like Saturday Night Live, SCTV. Remember that? The skit was "Fish Police". I so vaguely remember it, but I recall one of the fish police calling out, "Stop or I'll cast!" :) LOL. Oh, that sounds so stupid, but it was funny as hell. The fish were like stealing the watches off of fishermen and stuff. Heh heh heh.

What a great statue!! Beautifully done and this is a wonderful image of it Mike. Thanks for showing us the whole thing. Yup, they're a very important part of the food chain there. And they are soooooo yummy - esp. fresh.
