Description

Another wide shot: The tyranny and strange beauty of a city block. (A few blocks from home.) Hope you enjoy. Peace and inspiration to all, Mark (again, better large)

The combination of the beautiful building, the cars and the HUGE garbage cans is really so perfectly urban these days. You can't get away from any of them. Great city street scene, gritty and real!!

Nicely repetitive, yet filled with variety. This dovetails nicely with the conversation we've been having today. (Well, I haven't actually answered yet, so it isn't strictly a conversation, but I've been thinking about what you've said, so in my MIND it's been a conversation! LOL!)

I love the architecture in Chicago, and particularly those tall brownstones. Really interesting shot. CC

Uniquely Chicago. Uniquely Mark. The horizontals, the verticals, your composition. Very compelling!

I look at this and feel at home. Those human scale buildings are strangely familiar, so like many in my town, albeit of different materials.

Jean-Luc

Oh my, this is breathtaking, Mark! I love the little blocky textures of the stones, and the lines, and the graphic feel to this shot. Well done you!

This is a wonderful photo Mark, and on first glance it becomes easy to see why this city block caught your eye. I found the old-fashioned appearance of this area eye-catching, as it gives the entire area such a comfortable feel.

Mark, this is simply gorgeous. I love this shot. Dont know how you do it, but you can make such old buildings look fabulous included garbage bins. Ths clarity and the colors and the details all yell at me and I love it. Awesome shot.

Charles Dickens, where are you now that I need you? Or maybe a scene out of "How Green Was My Valley." Absolutely, unequivocally, nothing like this in my vast neck of the woods, Mark! Although it kind of reminds me of San Francisco. With that design, it could be some burg in England or Germany. Anyway, I echo virtually all of the comments preceding mine, my friend. Terrific shot!

Interesting architecture in this block of houses, they don't look all the same. The windows and doors are a great mix. I like the finish you have given this lovely capture too it seems to bring out the best of each. We have very few of these sort of buildings in NZ even in our cities although they are building more blocks now than they used to.
