Description
And their little cousins.
If you like overhead lines, then you should love this.
Captured 6/8/12, around noon, at the entrance to the Walmart store parking lot in beautiful Long Beach, California.
Positively ZOOM worthy.
This pic involved an uneasy position in taking it because of the steady stream of vehicles passing but just a few feet from my back side. Andrea would claim that I would be killed, or at best maimed, trying this in the UK. But anything for a picture, I always say.
Anyway, this will probably seem bizarre, but this is but one of a total of 258 fotos of just the many towers themselves, which were taken under both clear and cloudy conditions, at many angles, during FOUR visits, from 5/30/12 thru 6/8/12, encompassing not only the Walmart parking lot, but also nearby San Gabriel River and Rynerson Park. A real one week addiction/obsession, which involved a lot of hiking and POVs.
Arrivederci, thankx for stopping by, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Thank you so much, Harry. It's great to have my name associated with one of your Series. I love how these towers are tied up---literally---with telephone poles, and in front of that little monster back in the background. (Ie, that big triple-tower in the background. Actually, I see more than one. Formidable little monsters, aren't they...) Big swooping capture, with lines doing a patchwork-quilt in the sky. And I commend your bravery bucking traffic, people and god-knows-what-else, in getting these and other shots. You should get metals. Thanks so much for the dedi, and I look forward to more of these as you go through them. A lovely capture and lots of fun too---love their companions! (I'll get to more tonight, it's just been a whirlwind since coming home, but I couldn't let this one go another second. Many thanks, my friend!)

So glad you wern't injured during these mammoth and epic outings! I get a horrid headache if I spend long under these cables.

Not at all a fan of these, both for the potential health risks from living near them & for the way they create visual obstacles & distractions to what would otherwise be beautiful views. However, they do make for an interesting composition in this case, so I applaud you for that...

Sort of a necessary evil as far as I am concerned. I think this is the most lines I have seen at one time. Sterling shot, Harry.

You sound as though you have been living dangerously. A very impressive capture of all these towers and lines.

That's a lot of criss-crossing lines, Harry; careful you don't get zapped by all those electromagnetic rays! Beautiful capture, with that blue blue sky behind, well done!

Nice perspective with the cars in the scene really shows off these towers size. Nice work. Be careful out there.

What was the name of that song - Chris Crossing Away! This would drive a dyslexic batty. So I guess that would explain a lot about me! :o)
