Description
Captured 6/13/12, early AM, within trekking distance of my archaic abode.
Shot taken with my small point-and-shoot camera from several feet away, the results not as sharp as I would like.
Not exactly a scene from JaneEden's Enchanted Forest, with her stars, Amy, Freddie and Mistapus cavorting about, or even like morningglory's fotos of Baby, Monkey or Gordon snoozing peacefully away on a sofa. No, this is an inadvertent shot of a cat, reclining on top of an automobile in the concrete jungle, and just as surprised as I was when we first came face to face, with its expression similar to that of a deer caught in the headlights. Tension all the way. Glad I caught the kitty when I did, because it was off and running just moments after this pic was taken. It looks very well fed, and I like the patterns and textures in its fur coat.
Adjo, thankx for dropping by, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

your disappointment is natural, it's hard when we can't get the perfect shot (esp when the subject runs off after one second). But considering the obstacles thrown at you, you got a terrific pose of a cat who's stunned and ready to bolt. It's just what cats look like. And great that he was on a car! So typical of cats! They just go anywhere to rest...A fine candid, Harry, and I think the only reason photojournalists get such clarity on these shots is that they have equipment that cost more than a house, and when they have to get the split second moment from bad distances, etc, their camera can compensate for anything. Fine job with the obstacles, a great expression of shock!

a fat cat for sure. wonderful shot

It looks a lot like Monkey. It's always nice when you can get two or three shots, just in case....but nice try with this cute vanishing kitty.

The top of the car must have been her territory and we are the invaders of their space and they make a quick retreat, when someone comes near - if they are shy ... BTW it's a Tabby - lovely Harry, then again I am a cat-lover! BB

Great shot of this beautiful cat. One can see that it is a little surprised.

Wonderful pose of this startled puss; I wish I had a dollar for every not-perfect shot I've taken quickly in the attempt to capture a one-of-a-kind scene. This beauty is like my Polly, who fortunately doesn't startle easily and loves to pose for pictures if it means attention from humans!
