Mark, I am sorry you are not so well. I hope you will be fit for fight in no time :) What a beautiful shot this is and I love Sepia and very sharp contrasts in it. I tried to paint one of your pictures, Mark, but it simply wouldnt work for me today, so I just made a tiny postcard of something else.

What a glorious shot. I absolutely love the browns. And I am very fond of the angle - I am going out on a limb and guessing you were sitting on the grass? It just looks so peaceful and relaxing from this viewpoint. Very well done.

This is a wonderful image Mark, and I love all of the fine detailing you have going on here. The effects you used really make it stand out and the pov is superb. Very clever title as it does look like a sea of summer. Sorry to hear your fighting off the flu, this time of year makes it even harder to recover. I'll keep you in my prayers that your better soon.

What a lovely photo and I especially like the pov and coloring. You got right down there, as if you were a little critter in those splendid grasses. Take care of that flu, my friend. CC

Oh, I thought you meant Savannah, Georgia. Marvelous POV, texture and lighting contrast in this fine foto, Mark, apparently taken with your Nikon while lying on your tummy in the tall grass. Hope your influenza has waned and that you are feeling better.

Now I know what the small rectangles were in the shot I last commented on, they are buildings. This is nice too and I understand the trees better as well.

Beautiful piece of work here, Mark; I do like this postwork technique you're using, such a nicely graphic feel! I hope you feel much better very soon!

Love the light and the brown mono. Wow. What a great choice! This is stunning. It's VERY different from the first one (the second one, I guess, but I saw that one first) and they're both glorious! The light on the trunks, the shadows and flecks of light ... it's superb. The second one (the one I saw first) is an exuberant explosion of joy, and this one is a quiet enjoyment of inner peace. An outstanding duo!

This is an amazing shot, the perspective is so low and that gives it a really interesting look. The soft brown tones are beautiful, the light rocks and I could go on and on, but I just LOVE this!!

The sepia tinge works so well in shots like this; you're able to pick out so many details that way. And now, I'm wondering where in Chicago this might be. I'm guessing it's east and north, quite possibly approaching the Lincoln Park area...it's so nice there, and I have so few pictures from that region; though I have plenty from a grotty, grim, rusty, chemical-contaminated and potentially carcinogenic truckyard. I need more of these sorts of shots, especially since this one is making me think of Ursula K. LeGuin for some reason. If you've ever read her work, you'll know that she has quite an interest in trees, in forests, in more trees, trees, and walls on occasion. This makes me think of The Word for World is Forest...a surprising novel in so many ways (just recently re-released)...and it also makes me think of her Earthsea Cycle, and thus I'm wondering which island is this? Needless to say, I like any photograph that makes me think of a great writer's writing. The shapes in this are magical, as is the apparent absence of Chicago. There's something in this shot that could be a building, or maybe something a bit more intimate than those big, hulking things Chicago is known for, and it adds a little bit of mystery to this already fantastic, and yes, mysterious shot. This image tells a story, and I'm sure if I sit with it long enough, one will come out! That's what I love about photography, especially photography done by someone else. This is brilliantly super!

Love your tilt to graphics, Mark. Love the result. Glad it detracts you from the flue, get well soonest!

This one reminds me of the photos that my parents took with the sepia colouring but it still has a timeless beauty to it. This one really sings to me about the freedom of a park amongst the busy city. Once again you have taken it from a great POV. I do hope your flu gets better quickly as it is the 'pits' being unwell I reckon.
