WOW! That is indeed a summer field. And the light is marvellously beautiful. You make the most amazing art of your shots, even though they are art in its self. This is gorgeous. LUV it.!!!!!!!!!

Wow! This is terrific, too! Backlighting like this is my FAVORITE. Actually, I guess it would be called kinda right corner/angle lighting, but that is just too much work to say (or type). This view is as refreshing as a mint julep! It's not just fresh and springy it is very optimistic! (I have never had a mint julep... going from memory from a book I read.) This is best seen poster size but I cannot zoom that much. Awesome and fave.

splendid atmosphere!

What a marvelous idea this sea of summer series was Mark, and this is without a doubt my favorite so far. Once again your pov sets the tone for the image so well, and one almost feels like you could be swept away in it. I also love the lighting for this one as it give is a very dramatic appearance.

A very fanciful meadow, as if lit by magic. I can imagine all manner of creatures, from this world as well as other enchanted places, dwelling and dancing among those grasses. The wash of blue on the horizon is a very lovely touch. CC

I joined the Navy to see the world, and what did I see, I saw the sea. Your title reminded me of that old Fred Astaire ditty above. But I digress. Amazing and stunning in this magnificent image of the greenery going through an elegant transition of intensity from the effects of the strong light at the right. Superb contrast of light and shadow. Be well, despite the flu, my friend.

Could easily spend an afternoon daydreaming under one of these trees, delightful!

SUPERBE !

I like the way the sun blows out the top right corner, and also the way the little white tops multiply towards the trees! The trees are rather nice too. It would make an interesting painting, but probably would be difficult to capture the essence, well, impossible for me, LOL!

Bright and beautiful.

Wow, this is an eye-opener! It needs to be really big on a gallery wall, I think. Beautiful work, Mark!

Stunning photograph!

Oh wow, I thought the first one was great, but this one takes my breath away. It's got an almost luminous feel to it, and you must've been crawling around on your belly to get this perspective!! WAY COOL!!

WOW! What an amazing shot! Backlighting is one of those really amazing, really difficult things to work with. You can back-light anything, but it takes a particular sort of eye and skill to do so well and you did so perfectly here. And it's an apparent sea of dandelions on top of that! I love that. I think that one of the reasons I like insects and crustaceans is because they have a lot in common with dandelions. People tend to overlook them because they are not "pretty" enough, or because they're just rugged and durable and urban enough to grow anywhere, especially where you don't want them to grow! And for me, that's what makes them so incredibly appealing; they're an expression of so many of the things I cherish. And besides, where there are dandelions, there are intriguing, tiny, six-legged little people to capture with your camera. I love the luminosity in this shot, and the sense of swaying movement as only dandelions can manage. This is brilliant. And it also makes me think of something I read in Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451: a scene in which the protagonist "fireman" learns from an odd young girl that if you rub a dandelion flower on your chin (or is it your nose?) if yellow pollen comes off of it, then it means someone is in love with you. Since reading that, I've always figured that everybody should have dandelion pollen somewhere, on the lower reaches of their faces! Oh, and I should say that I also love the POV...this looks like you were rather close to that ocean: crouching, maybe, or even down on your belly. That's the best thing about photography: you gotta get close to your subject, and on your subject's terms, if you want a good photo. This is a fantastic, great, wonderful photo, and so it's clear that you got to know your subject as you were capturing a moment of it. Marvelous!

really like the way it's flooded with backlight and your POV. wonderful capture, Mark!

This looks stunning with the light making the flowers shimmer. You have taken this from a great angle too, it really gives a great sense of distance and it makes me want to take off my shoes and feel the growth on my bare feet. A wonderful capture.

What to comment on when there is such a rich choice in front of me? As I looked through your images, this one attracted me, not only for its beauty, but because when I looked at it, another image flashed into my head. A famous painting. In this painting there was the figure of a young woman. She has a very poignant story, but what made the image flash into my mind was the perspective and motion of both the painting and your image. When I look at "Christina's World" my eyes rest for a moment on her and then follow her gaze, across the fields to the farmhouse on the horizon. When I looked at your image, my eyes rested for a moment in the shadowed area on the bottom left and then swept across the field of flowers to the bright light in the top right corner. There is a great feeling of motion as my eyes move across the field. It is in the movement from shadows into light and it is in the movement of singly observed stems merging to become indistinguishable in the distance. I love the back-lit stems. They have a playful, dancing quality. I like the uneven concentrations of flowers which give a wonderful texture, and the line of trees, which also direct my gaze to the light. I like the yellow tones which give this such a glorious feeling of summer. Gorgeous capture!
