Description

It's a two part post this evening, this being the first. The waves are fierce along many parts of the "Lost Coast". The headlands just down the road from the house are no different. The surf comes rocketing in with a thunderous roar racing up the wave slope. Just look at how far up this wave runs cresting the zenith and replenishing the temporary lagoon on the other side(left image). To the kind souls that leave their mark whether a comment, rating, or save the image as a fav, you are very much appreciated, thank you!!!

Raw energy! I love your photos for the vivid explanations of geography, which was one of my main subjects at school 50 years ago. We just had mono photos then.

I think you must have gotten wet taking this (or you hold a camera very steady while walking on stilts!). This is an awesome shot! Very expansive feeling, and the wind blowing the spray down the beach a ways from the camera is a bit of icing on the cake - that and the awesome sky. Excellent shot!

A view just perfectly made for the camera. You certainly get a feel of the power of the sea here ...is this the Mighty Atlantic? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4NW3uLR6wk

Not that this isn't awesome, but with the waves casting this far up the beach, you could make a superb dawn / dusk long exposure shot here, with golden light. Hope you have a tripod!

A beautiful high tide capture with the clouds in just the right place. We have been having very heavy seas lately and we have lost more of our coastline worse luck.
