Description

Bill noticed these lovelies when we were on our walk yesterday, and I had to come back with my camera. There was quite a gathering! From the path I could see about half a fairy ring. No telling what was on the other side, because I was unwilling to crawl around under the ferns to see if it went all the way around!

Oh look! - lovely little pancakes or pikelets ... but then I changed my mind and couldn't wipe the smile off my face, they actually could be boob-implants (made by the fairy's) some of them have the nipples missing? shiny, shiny and new LOL - 'woodland jewellery' sounds better! BTW excellent image Tara ;) BB

I can't get this image of your backend vanishing Into the ferns out of my mind. I may have to doodle it. Great find, and such fun with everyone's ideas! I love the intimate feel to the shot.

I find it amazing that these look almost like buildings in a futuristic city...you know: one of those cities always depicted in some artist's conception of The Future, only there are no Jettson style space cars zipping around. What an image and I also have to admit to never having seen shiny, new mushrooms. I wonder if these have that new mushroom smell...and I hope to see Andrea's doodle too. I can understand not getting down and following these all the way around, but at the same time, I suspect that I might have wiggled at least a part of the way around, in case some kind of interesting crustacean or insect was just waiting for his or her closeup! This is a marvel! It's sweltering hot in Chicago, right now, and this image has done quite a lot to cool me off a bit...I love the visual implications of a more temperate environment than the Midwest in summer. It's like a very flat, very hot rock here.

Superb. They resemble little flying saucers to me;-) And you posted this on World UFO Day...most appropriate! Really admire the glow and composition.

Was it you who took a bite out of that mushroom with your snaggletooth? Gorgeous composition. How long did it take you to arrange the 'shrooms just so?

Ya shoulda gone, Tara.... The other side is where the faeries were dancing! :-D What a delightful capture of these wonderful "fun-guys"! LOL! Bill's right - they do look like a fleet of miniature flying saucers. It's an invasion!
