Description

Outside Manchester, Washington, we saw two camels. Imagine my surprise! Camels are not exactly native to Washington State. I'll show you the other one later.

Gosh, the desert is green this year... Dromedary, shmomedary, it's a camel, wherever it is (and wherever its feet are...)

Little know but useless information. Dromedary is the name for one-hump camels. This type of camel is common to Africa and the Middle East. It was exported all over the world and is now relatively common in Australia and North America, where is has been used sporadically over the years as a pack animal. Dromedary camels are much more common than two hump camels and much less common than camel cigarettes. Nice shot Tara.

I've seen llamas and alpacas, but never a camel outside of a zoo! Lucky find and great shot!
