Description

Further to my last posting, London Sewers: thumb_2351352.jpg Whilst this may not be the best photo I've ever taken, I have posted it now to show the marvellous Victorian architecture that houses the two photos that I will post over the next couple of days. According to Wikipedia, it was designed by engineer Joseph Bazalgette, Edmund Cooper, and architect Charles Driver and was built between 1865 and 1868. It was designed in a cruciform plan, with an elaborate Byzantine style, described as The Cathedral of Sewage. It certainly is impressive. ------------------------------------------ Original Photograph: 27 May 2004
