Description

"Aug. 1, 2012... A day that will live in infamy." Mike Kelly* This is the vile, fear-mongering phrase that came out of the flapping, pork hole that serves as a mouth of one of our refined, highly educated politicians today. He was referring to the new health laws that went into effect today... Laws that will allow women to get preventive health care for things like cancer screening and birth control, among several other benefits. He compared today with Pearl Harbor and 9/11... saying that this is an attack on our right to religious freedom. I am freaking out....! Just how dumb do these morons think we are? To play politics with anyone's health is an affront to every American citizen, and especially to women on this point. Who are these pretenders, who would have us believe that they have "our" best interest at heart? The men/women who have taken over our government are lunatics... and they are in charge of the asylum. They are all con-men, they can't dazzle us with brilliance, and so they want to baffle us with bullshit!!! Talk, talk, talk... they speak, yet say nothing...and when they do say something that we can understand, it's something that is aimed at destroying our country and turning it into a corporate controlled state... I don't do Fairy tale images... but I sure needed something to calm me down tonight before I went ape-shit and did something that would make the news, but would not be very good for my personal freedom... Insanity... pure and simple. And we are the ones putting up with it!! I hate politics, but can we really afford to hide our heads in the sand any longer?

Whoa, Seth...glad you opted for rendering a gentle fae instead of going berzerk. You did a brilliant job on her expression and pose~ she looks just as pssed off and utterly disgusted as you sound. Excellent work indeed. Now then, onto the idiot who inspired your rant... I had to go Google the news story myself~ I'm having a LOT of trouble understanding how the US government making it mandatory for insurance companies to cover contraception and other preventative health care is an infringement of religious freedom... Wut?! Since when is America a religious state? Did I miss something here? I thought we were a democracy...?! Alternately, can someone tell me which religion-governed health insurance companies are being forced to provide contraception and other medical services not allowed by their religion because of this bill? cricket...cricket...cricket Yeah, I thought so... All I can say is WOW; this Mike Kelley is criminally insane and a complete embarrassment to American citizens everywhere. And how DARE he compare this to 9/11 or Pearl Harbor. Ignorant F**. Excuse the language, I'm all hyper-aggravated and utterly disgusted, too. (getting off my soapbox now...) Thank you for posting this, Seth~

Do not get me started about politicians....... I rather get slapped in the face directly than listen to the crap that politicians try to make us believe. Awesome looking image my friend.

Beautiful fae and excellent atmosphere and mood! I will refrain from speaking my mind on the current state of our country. One because I do believe there is a language TOS .Second, there is a word limit, and third, I'd just go bat shit crazy if I actually typed it all into words. Nuf said!

A perfect image to celebrate Lammas with, as we celebrate the harvest--in most people's cases the harvest being the blessings of family and the good things in life that exists for those living in America. Even the poorest amongst us has it better than poor people in lesser-developed countries. Yet your commentary reminds us that something is going increasingly wrong in our country that for millions of people is threatening the way of life here in America. I won't debate politics here (though as you know our views are the same!)but I do find it frightening that what's going on in government is as insideous as a disease-weakening our freedoms and programs that help so many. And the scariest thing of all is how religion looms large in politics now, instead of being quietly in the background as it was for years. And the religion weaving its way through government right now is the kind you see in the eyes of the insane--bright with ecstacy--soon to take up serpents and uttering of unintelligible evangelical fervor---what a scary place America will be then.

I agree 100%. I am of neither party, but I know that people being able to have health care is very important. politicians are out to satisfy their own agenda without any regard for the people than voted. sounds like something the republican motor mouths would say that is the scourge of talk shows and even TV beautiful render

Excellent image!!! All politicians care about is themselves. They make all kinds of rules and they don't have to obey them but everyone else does.

Great image and social commentary! Tragically, I believe hiding our collective heads in the sand has become one of those things we're best at. I also believe it's something we'll regret sooner rather than later...

This is great fairy image. I like the surreal and grungy look. It is a fitting and moody image to match the mood that a true moron put you in. IMHO the health care law has still fallen short. At least some things have stayed and been protected, especially for women, but it just doesn't go far enough. The cost for protecting one's health is obscene. The hippocratic oath is long gone and been replaced by the hypcritical oath. Such comments by politicians just show how old and broken the system is. People who have been there for so long need to go. I think every office post should have a term limit, senate, congress, governor, mayor, defense, you name it. Maybe then some would actually fight for ideas instead of trying to make a soft and cushy career out of taking bribes and spitting rhetoric. I read this today and wondered just what drives such people. Sorry for the rant, but I think you understand.

Great commentary and a 10+ on the render. On either side, these politicos; men and women alike, they don't give a f*** about you or I. only their election/re-election poll numbers matter. Say anything, do anything to wind up their base. If they do win, a license for greed and corruption. Often it comes down to voting what you think is the least of two evils. Hold your nose if you have to, but please do vote.

Very cool image and message. I don't pay much attention to Politics anymore. I've came to the conclusion that democrazy has become a smokescreen to give the peasants a feeling of slight control of their lives and destines. While the real power lies in the hands of the faceless men that operate behind the scenes. Q How do your tell when a politician is lying? A His lips are moving. Don't let it get you down, just try to vent your frustration in a positive method, like you have so well here.

I can totally understand your anger, it is no different here in Germany. If I spend to much time listening to the news I also get an urge to go berserk in most governments quiet back rooms, where the real decisions are made and money dictates the shiny new laws, supposedly being passed for our security meaning more control and less freedom or wellbeing meaning less money and sinking life standards for the middleclass and the poor. The imgae is fitting to the mood. The fairy to me seems to be the longing for a better world. she is shedding bitter tears on the cold checkered floor of government control and the dark boiling sky is the wrath of the common man, in this case yours. Take care Seth, its not over yet and we are not without power, but we need to do something soon I think.

No 1st world nation is so fucked up about religion and politics as the USA (although I think Canada is getting pretty close with Harper). What is this about huh? Whose religious freedom is it to let women die in the street of the nation because the cannot get health care, to die in back alley black market abortion "clinics." America is freaked out about the injustice done to women in fundamentalist muslim countries like Afgahnastan and Pakistan and yet look what they would be willing to allow in the borders of USA. I recall the words to an old song "If God were here he'd tell it to your face, man, you're some kinda sinner!" America crows about the separation of church and state; it is an absolute joke. America's fundamental problem is that it is ok for people to be proud to be stupid - in fact if you are educated and smart you are looked down upon. America took the garbage that Europe could not stand, the religious fundamentalists, the puritans and it has allowed thier ignorant filth to fester on American soil. It's a fucked up country and I don't see it getting better any time soon. Pity that you had to waste a beautiful image to call attention to this pallette of puke called Mike Kelly.

Wonderful composition and statement, Seth. I do agree. All politicians nowadays, make war for money and power, only. And they are all in the pockets of capitalism. All swine.+5

They have become a kindergarten without benefit of a teacher. Lying and stealing have become nothing but what they do. They don't have real "money" problems. Their hand is in our pocket. They don't have a clue what a gallon of milk costs or even care. And they are chauvinists who want to "keep women in their place" despite the 19th Amendment to the Constitution. Oh, sorry! They don't believe in the Constitution which the President takes an oath to protect and the Congress Critters take an oath or an "affirmation" to protect. They are violating it even now by protecting from scrutiny the intelligence apparatus that is collecting all of our web and telephone traffic with massive taps in the centers of our communications portals. As long as "they" are making the rules they have that distinctly "Richard Nixon" belief about not "breaking the law...." Thanks for the reminder, Seth. Render ON!
