Description

This is one of my earliest Photoshop only images. In fact, I think I did it with Photoshop 3. This one may be a bit controversial. I think the U.N. started out as a good-intentioned organization, but I think it has since become too power-hungry and too domineering. AND... I think there is plenty worse to come. The text around the edge describes some of the things we can expect as the U.N.'s power and control grows.

I'm all for expressing political/spiritual views through art and I really like this. Anyone who's going to think this is contraversial is obviously part of the mindset that contributes towards this kind of control.....

Its a good image with a stupid, uneducated message. This is not a matter of right and wrong, and if it is than the US goverment is wrong. Iraq had yet to violate international law. We did it after lying to the UN, and using a falsely justified premptive strike, a method that is more than clearly forbidden by the genova conventions...you are little more than a misguided, propaganda influenced, fake-patriot, 9-11 mourning, racist, fool...The truth is easier to find when you allow yourself to look...PEACE

Great image. Great message. I'd like to see them survive without being in the U.S. Every now and then I'd like to cut their electricty off, just to remind them of where they are.

Oh wow! I've been away too long and hadn't noticed the last few comments to this image. Topgunner1024, I have this to say at least in part... I made this image BEFORE the attack on 9-11 ever happened; although I think it was after the gulf war. I am all for peace, but I am at least enough of a realist to realize that there will only be peace for the average citizens of this world when there are no longer any power-hungry people trying to reduce our freedom and build their own empires. And when do you think that is going to happen?

this is misguided ignorance, but ironically your explanation captures the heart of the problem with delicious irony. the UN is made up of more than 190 countries, most of whom are too poor to control anything, especially their own destinies. the UN is weak and enfeebled precisely because it is dominated and controlled a few rich countries...

The U.N. is a joke, and i think topgunner needs to take a better look at Resolution 1441,not to mention...The U.N. is premodern because it is unaccountable and irresponsible: It claims power not legitimized by the recurring consent of periodically consulted constituencies of the governed. Inebriated by self-approval, the U.N. is grounded in neither democratic consent nor territorial responsibilities, nor independent fiscal means, nor the material means of enforcing its judgments

Hmm...looking at the first sentence of your statement, and then the rest...I really think you copied that from somewhere, Captor...i could be wrong, though. Now...Not only is the pre-emptive strike NOT against the geneva convention (Which, by the way, dealt with the treatment of PRISONERS OF WAR, not the "Rules of Engagement.") but it's a very 'valid' (for lack of better word) military action. If everyone was like you, the entire world would denounce any warring nation as a 'cheater' every time an opposing force was killed. That kind of mentality doesn't help ANYONE. The point is, now that we're in Iraq we have to finish what we started, and do it right. Leaving a shaky Free Iraq to fall once again into the hands of a tyrant will benefit no one, and the blood of our soldiers is a fair price to pay for global security. And don't forget the 30+ nations aiding America in the war and reconstruction efforts.

I think I'm going to do an updated version of this theme. This time the flag will not be the U.N. flag but that one with the 12 stars. Know what I mean?

I like the message on this one. I agree with most of the anti-UN sentiments on this page.
