You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia, if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !** that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

Very pretty. I'm no expert on flowers, but my mum has these!

This is gorgeous!! :) I saw Deep Purple once.

I do love this composition, Brigitte! Petunias aren't keen on the rain so I don't suppose they did too well here this year. I have been engrossed by the rowing...

Beautiful image BB. We are in the middle of summer but the temp has hardly risen above 20 this year!

How fun to see a rare one in your neck of the woods! They're common as dirt here, but always a favorite. Beautiful image!

Deep purple - aptly named as the color is very rich. And I really like the velvety texture (on flower & leaf) as well - feels like I could reach out & touch it...

Awesome is an overused work, but I can't think of any other that describes this shot. Your composition is great and the detail stunning. Well done.

This is such a beautiful image. :)))) I agree with you on not enjoying winter any longer. :)))) I am ready to move more southward here. :)))) I would rather wear shorts and t-shirts all year round. :))))) Most sweet and excellent capture. :)))) Welcome back. :)))))) Thank you for sharing all of the beauty you see. :)))) Carry A Smile In Your Heart :)))))

This is a stunning capture of this very vibrant petunia. I love the velvety look of the petals and its lovely clarity. That is a great idea to get the scans done as they can pick up other things as well. We are seeing the first signs of spring here now too so it will be great to farewell winter.

have, in the dim... dark past, rocked out to Deep Purple.... now, not so much but still get the symbolism... and winter... winter you say.... here in the tundra, going through one of the hottest summer in years, it got up to 42 Celsius on the weekend.... (yes I'm bragging because in a few month, it will be my winter where the temp drops to minus 42 Celsius on a regular basis, while you and Jeff are chillin' by the pool...)

Are you still in winter, and then such a stunning flower blooming, how can that be, dear! But you made a fantastic photo out of this Petunia. For a short moment, I doubt if this could be a Clematis. Really splendid colors are on 1t. Your POV really is great, Brigitte, and I guess your eyes, they must be totally better now, regarding this beauty here, in any case, I hope so!!! (Do you have the result of that bone density scan? (for a couple of month I had this too). But I don't use the medicine for this, despite of the fact I have osteoporoses; too many side-effects. Which medicine is there for the people in your country which results are positive , by the way?)
