Description

to raise a child... An old saying but still as true as ever. If we still believed in community and pulling up our neighbors, our children wouldn't starve or have nowhere to live, no schools to attend... Life has changed so much in my life that I don't recognize it as life anymore. why not feed the hungry instead of spending a billion dollars on this political campaign? Why give millions to gas companies instead of helping folks keep their homes? We all know the reasons why... a better question is: When are we going to force them into doing the right things? We own the vote and their lies can not last when confronted with our votes... I did this because of a comment on one of my last pictures... who feeds the children?

"Life has changed so much in my life that I don't recognize it as life anymore." I can sure relate to this statement. I grew up in a community, such as it was and we had everything we needed in our neighborhood. I totally miss that. As for the rest - I think it was Angel made that comment. I don't mind them spending money on space or science but I do mind them spending money on wars, political campaigns, etc. It is obscene what some of these people have - many houses, cars, wardrobes, etc. while people starve, go homeless and without medical care. If we just spent what we spend on wars on feeding, educating, sheltering and treating the people who need it, everyone would be good. This country is no longer 'for the people' or 'by the people'. It is run by mega-corporations who want to revert back to what is basically a 'serfdom' where everyone works for 'the man'. I'm with Seth - you DON'T have to vote Democrat or Republican. Both parties are owned and in the pockets of these corporations. You can write in someone. Do it! Get rid of the greedy people who are RUINING this country!

well said Rayvn... both parties are vile and corrupt. We need to find those people out there who stand for the PEOPLE and not the corporate stooges. Yes, I owe Angel thanks for putting this idea for my image into my tired old head... thanks Angel!!! And thank you Ray for saying it in a much more clear manner than I could muster this evening... And for that matter than you all for the view and all your comments because those comments are the reason I render and post these images. It's my way of being social and the only way I communicate with anyone other than Jaime.

A very beautiful and meaningful picture. I understand and share your views. Unfortunately, there are always the weakest, especially children, who meets it the hardest.

yeah i thought this job (president)should go to the most adequate of candidates and not the one who has the bigggest funds. its all a freaking fraud.and the main problem is the stupid "average"people prefer to fight each other instead of helping each other, you do my bathroom i do your computer, you take my kid to school i mown you lawn etc............ i bet there are bunkers for the rich when it comes to the worst and even plans to escape from this planet and the rest can go to hell.

Touching and sad image, Seth, excellently done! You ask good questions, Seth, but I think many men are not yet ready to understand that, unfortunately...

Very strong scene. And superbly done. Even if we own the votes, once at the top ,I'm afraid elected people have to compromise with those who actually run the world.

There is so much that's going wrong in this world. And it's always the weak (like children, old or sick people) who suffer. Your image is very touching and so sad.

Very moving image, stirring words. I live in a very, very small town which once upon a time was all about community. Everyone here once was your neighbor, your friend and a part of your extended family. When I grew up all you had to do was open the door and pull out a hammer and someone was there to help with your task. All the churches in this area once gave of there time to those families in need (they will still send a check but everyone's too busy nowadays to be bothered to help out). It's so sad that we have forgotten that spirit of community that once made us great and it is a tragedy that the greed of mega-corporations and corrupt politicians have robbed us of the ability to provide compassion and support to those in need... (my apologies for rambling but I did refer to it as a moving and stirring work)

The ones raking in the money don't care. Every attempt to move them by voice or law is either ignored or campaigned out of existence. Stunning image, Seth.

Completely agree Seth...so sad they, Obama, can buy a personal plane ride for their doggy to travel on "in comfort" to their vacation spot when so many kids, and elderly are out there with nothing to eat or wear and oh boy I could go on ad I DID read the Obamas did this, I swear it...GREAT job on this. It is such a powerful image and your statement is LOUD AND CLEAR. Life has changed and sadly not for the better...stumps me cuz look at the dam technology we have yet its worse off today than ever. ok Im going off like I said I would not...have a good week hun.

Thought provoking imagery my friend. True enough We do own the Vote but We do not own the Results, ELECTORAL VOTES DECIDE WHO WINS THE ELECTION, then The Supreme Court can weigh in and over rule that, the Population has very little to do with it anymore. Insurrection is the only way to take back control of our Country but that road is fraught with with peril, the first being will the Military Back the People or Commander In Chief in a Martial Law Situation. That's a really tough decision for a Military Commander, there has to be a Revolutionary and Evolutionary change in the way this Country is Governed or a lot of those Commanders will be faced with exactly that choice I'm afraid. Peace

Very good image Seth! Where I work that's a question that is answered on a daily basis, everytime we give out a foodbox. the food we get to do this is donated by the 'village' via food drives and private donations

i so agree Seth, lets spend money on worthless studies instead of feeding the hungry, lets also spend money on crap that makes no sence instead of curing cancer. i have been very upset on worthless studies and politics over the last twenty years or more, when will we focus on the needs of people? very well done image seth, takes your breath and heart away my friend//

It's a difficult challenge to depict a scene in which a person looks hungry. this is an attempt I value,my friend. Gr.Rudy.

Exactly! But don't kid yourself. Countless times we vote for something. & Even if they slip & somehow it passes, a lowly community court will invariably overturn it. And just ask yourself, how many child molesters there are in that community. And people wonder why I live in the middle of nowhere.

Impressive work and achievement, an image of feeling my friend, applause (5) PS: apart from everything that you put, I agree, as well as other comments, but I know that the situation is worse because it is invested in the world to keep the misery triple what it would take to end it and hunger. Portrays as some profit from the hunger of many ...Absurdities of senseless greed. Then the times I ask me what world is this?

wonderful picture and wonderful catch line.... well, being a citizen of third world I know what is poverty and I know what hunger is. Even some of my neighbors don't earn more than INR 50 (<$1) and have 5 members in their family. And yes, all the politician and their campaign are ever increasing with more and more money. This is a very shameful act and also very shameful to think that those politicians are actually ruling our country, represent our country to the outer world and decide our country's policies. SHAME! Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece of work...
