Description

A peek into the "workstation" of chaps like Douglas Bader, Johnnie Johnson, and countless others. Have to admit, it was all I could do to resist climbing into that cockpit myself, and perhaps get a sense of what they experienced! Once again, this is the Spitfire XVI owned by Vintage Wings of Canada. Photographed while on static display at the CWH's 40th anniversary airshow in mid-June. Vintage Wings does offer rides in some of their planes... sadly, the Spitfire isn't one of them! Note: I somehow doubt the Garmin GPS is "original" equipment!

How wonderful to see all this and experience the emotion of operating this aircraft. Great shot!

I'm surprised you could resist. It must have been very tempting. A fine shot!
