Description
I like this one because of the startled hare's expression this pedestrian glances at us when crossing the street. He has some reason to be afraid: in summer our streets are less trafficked, especially in mid-August, and many drivers are tempted to ignore the red light. Actually too many pedestrians are killed while walking on the zebra crossings and the drivers run away.He was safe with us: Flavia and me always stop at the traffic lights! The photo was taken in the area of the scientific faculties in Padova, more or less in front of Mathematics.
Thanks for your king comments.

Maybe he thinks drivers earn points for getting pedestrians? More for the young ones, as pensioners are easy to knock down ... ! Great street view.

Great shot sandra.

A great shot, Sandra. What fools are driving in your country, by no stop for the red light? :) Unbelievable, and dangerous.

I love the insights you provide with your photographs and I love the treatment of this photograph. I mentioned in a previous shot how your photos seem to stand right on the border between photography and painting, or some other medium of visual art (usually a traditional medium, like paint on paper or ink on paper) and this is a great example of that. There's an almost papery texture to the image and some of the lines actually look drawn by hand. I like it when photography does stuff like that and you do it perfectly, while also conveying an urban scene that I rather like. I love urban photography that actually seems solitary, as this shot does. Of course with a holiday season descended upon a city, it's probably easier to get a solitary shot; I really like your solitary shots: they always seem to stand right on the border between expansive/open and intimate. It's a wonderful balance. This is a great photograph.
