UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Very nice photo. The black/white effect is great - Civil War type of exposure. The low sun makes for a particularily interesting lighting (the strong illumination of the sides of the tomb stones even suggest a dramatic stage lighting). The addition of the 4 figures give different levels of interpretation - a ghost story (haunted grave yard) or, as you suggest, remembering some of the fellows whose bodies are buried here. By the way, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, in her autobiography "The Wheel of Life", tells of photographing two friends in a park which lay near an old Indian grave yard. When the film was developed, a BIG semi-transparent Indian with crossed arms was visible in the photo. Your photo reminds me of her experience. It makes one wonder how much those who have passed into the spirit plane (6th dimension) are aware of us and our doings. Keep up the good work! This is really a dramatic image. The lighting here does a lot. :-)

An eerie and wonderful image, Bill! This is so perfect - the ghostly figures absolutely make this exceptional! Brilliant work, Bill! I'll have to admit when I saw the title, I thought "Woah - Bill's into Star Wars, now?" LOL!

An extra something is always nice, especially when it enhances a mood and makes a reference to history! I'm not one to believe in ghosts, but like you, I'll put one (or four) in a photo! This is really superbly done...wonderfully seamless and I like the fact that it's in black and white! That ups the mood for me.

Nice little twist with the spectres Bill :)

I really like it. Now it needs a companion: the same shot with troops in uniform. (Same basic shot; ghosts in uniform, and swap back and forth between the two enhancements... Hmmm... start with just the graves and then bring the troops / veterans in.) Go for it. I recall some of the older graves in local cemetaries had GAR flag holders on them. Took some time before I knew the significance of them.
