Description

APO Entrance to the Deep Cavern Elves. PLEASE SEE FULL SCALE This is perhaps one of the best images I have that show what adding a drop shadow and bevel within Photoshop can do for an otherwise flat looking APO. Yes, it’s another image with water, but hay, now that I’ve found the water, I can save many of the otherwise not so interesting fractals. At the bottom of the large disk, between two swirls, you see the dark entrance to the Deep Cavern Elves, which one needs to sail through to the wonders on the other side. I just dropped the fractal into Photoshop, added the black background, added the drop shadow and bevel, adjusted both of those until I got the very rounded beveling you see, which added great depth, and then added the water. Honestly, even though the image here is low resolution for Renderosity, you can still see how the drop shadow and bevel can really change the fractal from something fairly flat, to something you imagine you can reach out and feel the depth. Thanks again for visiting, and for all your continued support and comments. Glenn.

Cool stuff, super job. I don't use the Dropshadow and Bevel in PS, I prefer the Relief/Soft Relief function in PhotoFilter StudioX, it accomplishes basically the same thing but with softer edges. Peace
