Description
Captured back on 1/23/10, early morning after an overnight rain, with my lengthy condominium complex depicted on the left.
ZOOM worthy.
In the attempt at high contrast without going overboard, this foto was converted to a black and white, with a green filter. Other filters I tried looked cool also, some really stark.
Cheerio, and have a nice day.

Nice POV of the front of your domicile. Many of the others' comments are right on point.

Looks great in black and white.

Excellent work, Harry; it has a sort of post-apocalyptic feel to it. I like the sheen that the wet pavement gives it. Well done!
jocko500
did a good job on the lighting

Interesting to see where you live. There should be a few insects in those bushes.

I'm skipping around again, trying to catch up with many images in one sitting. This one knocked me out the second I saw it, it really does feel other worldly (I think Denise called it post-apocalyptic---I checked, she did!). I like that Rob compares it to an English street---from what I've seen of pictures, I can see some similarities w/ some parts of England. Graytone was the perfect choice, your subtle tinting is finely done, and your texture and light-play---off the gritty street textures and (I assume) moisture spots on the sidewalks, as well as off the chrome and glass of the cars, etc, is first rate. You even captured the condensation in the windows. Awesome postwork. And the sun---here bulbous, all-commanding---seems like a Presence controlling everything beneath. It's also a portrait of an urban street: I mean, even Chicago (which is much less spacious than L.A.) has many streets that look like this in early or late day, or after rains, or when fogs lift, etc. I.e., the abandoned street, the empty cars, the eerie light...all visited by an almost 'toy'-like quality to the cars and buildings, as if they were built for a movie set. It's a wonderful shot, wonderful postwork, ever-so-slightly soft, everything finely tuned...and the light/shade along your condo and bushes are musical in and of themselves. A post-apocalyptic poem. Eerie and beautiful.
