Description
Taking a rather ordinary and pedestrian image and injecting some postwork life into it.
Captured 9/21/12, very early morning, within a mile of my aesthetic abode.
Original on top.
A ZOOM is essential for consummate viewing.
Avtio, and have a nice day.

The original has lovely shadows and lightplay, Harry; the variation is otherworldly! Great work!

well ok, first of all, I love the first shot: For me, it's anything but 'ordinary and pedestrian' (artists are allowed to be critical of their own work---it's in the contract---but as the viewer, I just love that shot!). I can say, as a photographer of lots of street scenes, that shot just sings with intense light, with an almost mystical light in the back (it's eating up the scenery back there), with wonderful dark overhangs and shadows, and a feeling that we're being led into a strange other-world where it's hard to figure out what's back there---does the city end, is there a space ship that devours it all, is there a great canyon? I can't help thinking those things from the light. And the light in the center---the way it floods the crossing-lines---only emphasizes the mysterious power that your morning light has. I love that shot. Your postwork has inversion, but with real saturation of hue, fine border light around the trees, you've drawn forth the light and details from the cars---almost like they were from another picture of the same scene---and given it all a yellowish night-light tinge. Very fine postwork, Harry, and the original was wonderful urban seeing, so it's a double treat in my book.
