Description

I'm back and finally posting again. Was in eastern Turkey for two weeks and London at the beginning for a day and the end for a week. Turkey was tough this time with the hostilities and the generally more remote and rugged part of the nation. A village right next to where I stayed was shelled by Syria a few days ago. But for now let's focus on a more peaceful part of the world. My tales of Turkey will be told over the next few months. This is a backalley lane called Cornwall Gardens in Chelsea/Kensington, just behind the hotel where I stayed in London. Shot on a cloudy and cool autumn evening, I like the way the HDR pulled out the greys and greens. This image took a real serious beating, though I reduced it by 30% I still had to only have 61% quality. Oh well.

Yay! Glad you're back. Glad I didn't know you were in Turkey. Tough times indeed. I wonder how Kemal is dealing. Super image and the HDR seems to really add a richness and vibrancy to the colors. Great composition and interesting alley, reminds me of San Francisco too. Excellent shot. Welcome back.

looks like you could only get a bike down this path - I guess the people their use it as a backyard to grow plants? lol

Welcome Back Roxy!! I was thinkin' you might show up again here soon. Nice to have you back. Sounds like you had a very eventful trip!! This picture is absolutely gorgeous. I love the saturation of the colors and the sort of misty look about it. Beautiful alleyway and image of it :)

yeah this syria/turkey conflict looks suspicious to me. i dont think the syrians are as stupid as to attack the turks. there is someone else behind the curtains who plays puppeteer.my opinion. maybe the west is looking for a way to get out of the crisis, more weapons more work more steel etc... i am sorry to say but this world is perverted on the highest of echelons.

Missed having you around. This is a stunningly simple composition, but as you say the patterns brought out give it a subtle complexity!

Goodness me you were in a dangerous part of the worl, only glad you got away safely from that part of the world. Yes there are some lovely little places like that around the UK, I particularly love this photo you took, it shows how quaint parts of London still are, hugs Jane xx
