Description

Here's another photo from our recent trip to Arkansas. This was taken from one of the overlooks scattered around the top of Mt. Magazine, the highest point in Arkansas. My time here in the galleries is going to be very limited for a while - and unfortuantely, I'm not 'bluffing' about that. The company I work for contracts equipment and on-site service to a printing company called Deluxe - your personal bank checks probably come from one of three main plants. One of those plants is here in the Kansas City area, where I work. One of the other big plants is in Moutain Lakes, NJ. The MT. Lakes plant is shut down with no power as a result of Sandy's swath of destruction. There currently is no estimate on when the Mt. Lakes plant will become operational. All the print work that went there is now coming to our plant. The end result, of course, is we are now working on a 24/7 basis - no weekends off for the forseeable future. I'm working the graveyard shift at the moment, so when I'm not working or sleeping, I'm wandering around in zombie mode, bumping into things and mumbling to myself :-P I'll be trying to keep up with comments, and do some art when I can, but if I don't show up for a few days, just wanted to let you know I'm OK, other than the occaisional bruise from tripping over my own feet... Happy Birthday to all the November kiddies! I'll try to have something for all of you in a few days! Thanks for dropping by, and I hope you all have a great week! My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by Sandy's wrath.

Lovely shot Rod, working 24/7 no weekends, I hope that includes the management too, they seem to love putting these pressures on the workers and still run off on the weekends or during week to play golf and are getting more pay than the average man on the floor who has a wife and family that would like to spend time with them (well maybe lol) Oh well take care my friend and don't trip over to many things dont want you in traction that would never do, who would do the work then??

What a beautiful shot and wonderful hints of fall colors in this Rod! Nice perspective with a great view of the horizon. Aren't you glad you got to go on your vacation before all of this? I'm prayin' for you that the power in NJ comes on again soonish. I don't expect it'll be tomorrow or maybe even next week, but soon. In the meantime, eat well and sleep well my friend. Hugs to you!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!! AWESOMELY GORGEOUS shot Rod!!!!!!!! This is AWESOME! What a beautiful scene. That rock looks VERY old and weather worn. MAN!!!!!!!!! That work schedule really SUCKS Rod!!! I pity you! Kinda what I went through last summer when the company I work for decided to cram a pound of sh_t into a one ounce bag and dumped a stupid deadline on us. I wish you the best buddy! Hang in there. Just try to keep reminding yourself of all the OT you will be racking up. My thoughts a with you.

This is a great shot Rod! It would make a awesome background for a future TNA scene!... Ouch!...ooh sorry to hear whats going to be happening to you at work, kind of reminds me of when I was in the navy, those long work days, but on the bright side...you'll make a lot with all that OT... So take care!...

I thought you were gonna say you had been called up to NJ to help re-establish the plant there. Now that would have been a real pain, so I guess you can count your small blessings that you at least get to stay home. Wow, just never really thought of Arkansas having a landscape quite like this. I have never been to the SE.... have to do it sometime. Is this in a State Park or Forest Reserve?

Fantastic capture rod, really like the title. Sorry you're having to put in so many hours, and hope things change soon. If things ever do slow down for you let me know as I'm in the Kansas City area from time to time on business and we can grab a bite to eat.

Chin up when the water's up your neck! So we're patiently waiting, no prob. But take care of yourself: At some point of exhaustion you stop to be a help for your company (and yourself and your family, of course).

This is a very beautiful looking place and look at all those trees. A super capture. I wont be in the galleries much either as I have more learning to do. I hope you don't get too many bruises from stumbling around in the dark and I hope you get a change in shift soon.
