Description
Captured 8/9/12, early AM, from an alley in the usually congenial confines of my condominium complex.
This Channel 5 TV whirlybird must have been at least three-quarters of a mile away, and probably more, making a huge racket while hovering over the freeway recording a traffic accident below. I believe that's its camera on the nose. I pushed the lens of my point and shoot camera to its full 16X optical zoom limit for this shot. It was a hand held pic, which should explain the general blur and lack of sharpness of the aircraft, although the blur of the rotor blades is a giant plus.
And, no, I didn't watch the coverage later on television.
So long for now, and have a nice day.

We have lots of helicopters flying over our neighborhood because we are a take-off route from the airport. I enjoy every minute of it, and have taken some pretty cool shots of airplanes and choppers.

Very cool shot of this whirlybird, Harry; they always remind me of dragonflies. Great work! And in the end Dad had seven aneurysms repaired today over the course of nine hours...

Well caught! ALL my pictures are hand held, as I am not patient enough to fiddle about with stuff.

I love watching these helicopters in action. I know they can be dangerous... two collided out there this past week. I still would not mind having a chance to ride in one.

Nice capture from that distance . Always nice to see helicopters in action, just as long as they are not chasing me. :-}
