Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Very foggy, and I'll bet cold. Nicely done Marilyn.

Not as warm as Andrew's beach but a great shot!

Beautiful capture.

I can "feel" this just as much as I can view it. Excellent shot.

Very nice work - I know the type of day you're capturing. Sometimes they're more enjoyable than the bright sunny days.

I have a very similar image taken at the Namibian Coast! Love the mood.

Alternate title: Delicious Grayness with Gull. What a wonderful atmospheric shot!

Interesting... I didn't know you guys had black sands... It reminds me, I've just gone down Waipio Valley yesterday. Nice shot. Aloha

Yes, I agree. The water, sky and beach do blend together, as does that bird over to the left.

very nice view

Oooooooooohhhhhh! Willya lookit that!!! I like the bleakness this has, but it's not desolate or depressing, just stark and clean and very, very peaceful. The fog is kinda hypnotic. It makes me think of a story element: maybe there's a group of people who live near this beach and they wait for foggy days and when it rolls in like this, they walk into the fog, so that they may have dreams...the kinds of dreams that they call "walking dreams." You did it again, you know. It started when I was Way Over There and saw "El Arco" and it happens again and again...this has that "El Arco" feeling, where there's this image, and it lends seems to want to tell a story. It does, of course, but there's another story that wants to be told and this image inspires it! Good art does stuff like that and this is good art! More nice shootin! Feel free to do more of these if you want. I don't know if that's a gull or some other kind of bird, but I like the mysterious presence it possesses. Maybe it's a dreaming bird.

I like this shot - it is like you are the only person in the world.
