Description

The chaffinch is from the family of sparrows. Here is a verse from a Sweet little Danish ditty, maybe kind of lullaby. I have translated the best I could. I havent tried to make it rime. Sparrow silent behind the twig; indeed, the snow is drifting. The willow whistles sadly from the north winds bursts Lul-lul! spinning wheel goes steadily in mother's room, and the more the wind blows, the more the fireplace flames. In Danish: Spurven sidder stum bag kvist; såmænd, om ej det fyger Kålgårdspilen piber trist for nordenblæstens byger Lul-lul! rokken går støt i moders stue, og jo mere vinden slår, des mer får arnen lue. Writer, Jeppe Aakjær, 1906. Composer, Carl Nielsen, 1926 ... Have a beautiful day. We had sun all day, and so I was able to actually paint, which I did. I almost finnished a Landscape. Maybe it needs a few adjustments. Thank you for your always welcome viewing, commenting and fav to my previous post. :-)

The poem works really well in English and the photo is beautiful too. They go well together!

Ooo! What a nicely "fuzzy" bird! The colors and the mood are perfect together! The photo is absolutely gorgeous! The poem in both English and the original Danish are a perfect compliment to the image too. I love images and text working together, and so this is a treat to me. This is really beautiful and the poem gives it a nice, friendly feeling.

A lovely capture of this chaffinch, he looks as though he is feeling the cold. I'm glad you have had some sunshine so that you could paint.
