Description
This is part of Bryce Canyon in Utah and you can see here some of the thousands of what are known as 'Hoodoos'. The definition is - a pillar of rock, usually of fantastic shape, left by erosion.
To me they are the American version of the Terra Cotta Army! Please zoom for a better look.

I got such a shock, looking at this image, first thing in the morning here (it's 5am) I couldn't sleep and now I know why! - this big bolder hanging there so precariously - oops, I think I will get back to bed ... ;P Seriously though Jeff, this is an incredible Mountain range image - did you really climb this high, to get a good view? you did well! Maybe a 'Limestone Army' perhaps! Super shot indeed. The Paunsaugunt Plateau is truly an awe inspiring place.

I visited Bryce back in the 80's. It's a fantastic place. I always thought down there looked like a great city of stone with many spires. Some of the hoodoos do look like people though - like the 'Three Sisters'. This is a great shot and pov, Jeff!

I visited Bruce many years ago & the hoodoos were covered with snow at the time, which added to the dramatic effect. But this is a great shot because of the huge number of hoodoos you've managed to include in one image...

Just love this at the zoom Jeff. Wonder how long that rock in the foreground has been sitting there? Isn't nature miraculous!

A magnificent shot and POV out over the vast amphitheatre. I hope that you had the opportunity to walk down in amongst the HooDoos.

Great capture Jeff. This inspires me to go there again. Can't find the pictures I took last time I drove through there about 20 years again!

Alright I'm still trying not to laugh at BB comment. Nice shot of the "Amphitheater" Jeff.
