Description

Blender, Poser, Photoshop, Fireworks --- Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to view my work. This is one of the best renders from my CC01 promos. It just all came together with this one, so I thought I'd post it here. Ages ago, I did a Fashion 01, intending to render all the clothing I owned and bought as a series. That just didn't happen. Now I think my fashion series will just feature my own clothes. But I won't make too many plans, as it didn't go as planned the first time. :D The only thing that aggravates me about this image is the hair. It's decent, but it doesn't fall as well as I'd like. I can't seem to paint over it like I usually do, either. Something about how it flows just doesn't mesh with my hair painting style. I think it would actually be easier to paint over nothing. The texture is Vanessa by maelwenn. I used her morph in the head, too, though not on its own. The outfit is my CC01 (on sale for only a few hours more). It was scaled down in the Z-direction in the first frame to fit this morph. This is a trick you can do with pretty much any dynamic clothing that's parented to the figure. If you want something to fit a figure more tightly in the final frame, scale the figure (and therefore the parented item as well) down in the first frame. The figure grows with the sim, and the clothing stays the same size. The scene is, as always, my in progress photo studio, though you can't really see it here because I've deliberately blown it out. I was glad to find I could do this sort of lighting with it. All the materials are mine, including skin and hair. The hair uses my diffuse and streak textures. It's a great model; the limitations are mine and not Valea's. Credits: Misty Veil Hair by Valea (DAZ3D) Vanessa by Maelwenn (DAZ3D)

This is just such a great portrait--she has so much attitude and the texturing and folds of the dress are outstanding! I love the fact she looks like she has a life outside Poser!

I like the risky rough feel of this image. Well done.

Really nice. Yes, suitably bohemian feel to it for the title. The materials look awesome but don't overpower... they serve the feel and theme of the image nicely, I reckon. I love the subtle wrinkles, e.g. under the ankle, on the outside edge of her right foot. Her face and expression is also very nice. My only critique would be that right inside elbox, at the bend / crease and the line of the bicep above it. Overall I like the shape there... I just think it either needs smoothed a little more... or a touch more muscle definition perhaps, to explain the shape of the flesh? Still, more than worthy of 5 out of 5, regardless ;-)

I'm glad you told me you deal mainly with dynamic clothes and find it easier than conforming - something I've never looked into in all these years. later on in the year, a few months from now, I'll really look into the dynamic side, cause I do like the look a whole lot better than conforming. Awesome work here, I think your hair looks great, but if you want to tweak it, whey not liquify it in photoshop? - easy fix unless you're planning to animate.

Power stance, power image... it all says: "dynamic is powerful". Great lighting, her skin looks believable, I like the bent hand on the back. The fishnets are so compelling a presence, I can almost feel the itchy scratchiness of the material. But I like the dress best of all. Only with dynamic cloth can one achieve that particular wrinkle/ripple that sets it worlds above anything conforming could ever hope to achieve. Oh, and dynamic cloth is easier than one would think!

Superb work on the pose and expression which really make this image stand out. Vanessa is always one of my favourites and you have achieved an impressive render here. First class work all round, especially on the dynamic cloth!!
