Description
I was going to close out this series with yesterday's post, but then remembered that I left out Skull Arch. During the hike, we passed from a narrow canyon into a very large, bowl like area surrounded by high rock formations. This arch isn't visible when you first enter the bowl, but a little ways into it, as you look all around & up, it hits you. It's also known as Twin Arch, but I think Skull Arch is more descriptive...

I'm glad you included this one! The smooth steps are compelling ... I could stare at them all day. It really does have the feeling of looking out through a skull! Well named, and a great image.

Man, this is so nice, and with all that red it is almost like you're inside a Carnelian agate looking out!

Yes, I bet this is the arch that sucks unsuspecting hikers into another dimension. Great shot and I wish I could go there!
