Description

A pair of FW190A "Wurger" or "Shrike" (more popularly known by later reputation as "Butcher Bird")fighters escorting some Ju-52's laden with troops. Again, just an excuse to try out an idea. I saw a painting by Keith Ferris, fantastic aviation artist and a long time favorite entitled "Real Trouble" and was intrigued by the light effects possible through a back lighted canopy and off I went. It also seemed an opportunity to do a straight side-view shot...with snow! FW190A: Nice model with lots of options, lots! Available by Touchwood here on Rendo. Pilot: Apollo Max free online, just google it. Pilot gear: adh3d USAAF pilot gear here on Rendo Ju-52: Once, but no longer available on sketchup warehouse by JIHS. I am also a huge Keith Ferris fan, a great aviation artist as you say...I believe the image you refer to is a tribute to Kg/300 (but don't quote me on that..not 100% sure) Your 'experiment' with back light has really worked, the Ju-52's in semi silhouette against the snow are very effective at drawing the attention to the foremost aircraft with all it's detail.I find it hard to get depth in a profile image, but you have achieved it very well here Bill....Great image! 10/10

Where is Capt. America when you need him? Gee, imagine a movie that started with THIS SCENE! Junkers with skis, uber-kommandoes attacking Ultima-Thule etc. Great formation, mountain, clouds... and the moon too... (though the last irks a dash- the crescent is wrong for the sun's apparent position). But hey, that's what happens when Bad Nazi's fiddle with Space-Time...
