Description

After the respect and the nod to chivalry, the hapless adversary is left to his own devices, no doubt taking little consolation in the fact that he is still lucky to be alive. The victors return home to a warm dinner, a round of schnapps or lagers, applause from their peers, and another pencil mark on their tally sheet...and the specious feeling of gratitude that their "god" was on their side today. These alpha planes are amazing. The entire forest is comprised of alpha plane trees. Many polys went unused. Fokker Dr.1 Triplane and Pilot: Terrific model and textures by Neiwil, free on sharecg. Warm clothes and whatever he has in his pockets....that downed pilot had better be related to Davy Crockett. Stunning scene Bill, great continuation from the previous.A great feeling of vast space, with contrasts of light and dark which mirror the contrast of joy and despair for the protagonists. I'm sure the Alphas are going to serve you well, you seem to have an impressive grip on them. Thanks for the mention, always appreciated.

I agree with Neil. A pilot of that time was extremely lucky to get his 'kite' down and survive, now the harsh winter would be his next obstacle. Unless he's picked up by his own squdron he has a long walk ahead of him. Fine image Bill, the alpha plane trees work well :)

So, this would be December 1917...yes, it's possible. If the novel and film "The Blue Max" is any indication, most German pilots were of the aristocracy and even minor nobility...U.S. entry into the war notwithstanding, one wonders if that isn't part of what did the old German Empire under the Kaiser in (as well as the Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman Empires...and then the British and French Empires a generation later...) Hmmm...is there a theme, here...?
