Description
Bill crawled out of his bed. He was still wearing the pants he had put on the previous day after the accident. He felt raw and stiff all over. He stripped off his clothes and went to the bathroom and drew a hot bath. It felt so exotic and relaxing laying in it. He felt he could spend all day there, it helped take away so many pains.
But all good things must come to an end sooner or later. There was a clock on the wall. Bill was startled by how late it was in the day. Where had all the time gone? He got out of the bath, dried off and put on a clean pair of briefs. Then he remembered his dream.
Going over to the sink, he tilted his head and scrutinized his neck in the mirror. The light wasn't very good but he could still see fairly well. He looked as closely as he could but couldn't see any marks on his neck. Was it just the power of the dream or just his imagination. He couldn't tell, but he could still feel those fangs pressing against his neck.
Jeeves! He had seemed so sincere when he had given Bill that pendant. Was there some kind of control device in it. Bill reached down and tried to pull the pendant off. Much to his surprise, it was stuck to his body, like it had been glued there. He tried to dig under it with his finger nails and pull on the medallion. No luck! Everything he tried failed. It were as though the pendant were tattooed to his body!
What was he going to do about it? He had a sinking feeling he hadn't seen the last of Jeeves. He had another scary feeling that this pendant would probably leave him helpless in the presence of Jeeves. Bill began to panic! Then he took some deep breaths and tried to calm himself down. He needed to talk to Pasha about this. He was sure Pasha would have some kind of idea what was going on. After all, this was his country. This sort of thing went on all the time here, if you believed half of what you saw on tv.
