Description

Pasha and his grandfather walk back to the limo which Arik has managed to turn around for the exit from the clearing. The drive back to the village is punctuated by two spots in the road Arik misjudges and gets them stuck. Fortunately, they are able to push their way out, with Marek behind the wheel and Pasha and Arik pushing. Once back at the village, they stop at the local tavern and have a quick refreshment while asking about the young shaman's grandmother's house location. Their talk during this break causes many an ear to be turned their way. Rural folk seem to have finely tuned hearing for any new gossip. With the directions fresh in their heads, they drive out to the young shaman's grandmother's house. He has seen their approach and is awaiting them at the door. He directs them into the front room of the ancient building. Just an old wood cutters hut. But it looks tight and well tended. The young Shaman has already placed an ancient volume on the table. Marek goes over to it pages through the old manuscript. He can't help but shake his head a little. The young Shaman wasn't kidding about the poor condition of the volume. Evidence of some attempt to repair the damage is evident on almost every page. There are some pages that have large pieces missing with too much gone to decipher what was there. Finally, Marek gets to a section that relates to werewolves. They are in luck. These pages seem to be mostly intact. There is much information to be had. Marek patiently goes over the writing with the young Shaman translating any symbols he hadn't been able to figure out himself. This is the very same ancient script Marek's father had taught him as a boy so he has little difficutly in reading it. The young Shaman is very excited and most appreciate of this newfound knowledge and thanks Marek profusely for sharing it with him. One of the things they discover is that there are several stages the human goes through before they become a completely irreversible werewolf. If the condition is inherited, is has been observed that it skips a generation which explains why Marek's own children never displayed any of the symptoms. The condition, if discovered early enough, is possible to reverse. A list of ingredients and spells are offered that can accomplish this task. The main ingredient gives Marek pause and causes him to groan in agony. Blood of the vampire has to be consumed at the full moon for the wolfing effects to be fully purged from the human entity. But is must be consumed before the human's 21st birthday. 'Your 21st birthday is next month, Pasha! Where are we ever going to get that ingredient?' Marek asks. Thank you for taking a peek! Your support is greatly appreciated!

Well when all you've got to do all day is chew barley and talk about the weather, anyone else's gossip seems mighty interesting Radders!! BTW, you should try being a Were-Frog. Only 4 nights to go and my wife has already got the ropes out to tie me down in my pond. Even now I have the unholy desire to "Croak at the moon!", as Ozzy Os-Spawn might sing :)
