Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  ÂÂ

very sharp focus and beautiful bird I used to work for some associations and I know personally that the condo owners can be sob's the president at one had fallen on his patio and broke his hip. well , he had both hips replaced. his stairs were on a radius(half circle) and would prevent him from walking up them. He asked me to remove them and place two flights of conventional steps and with very strong hand rails. the neighbor next door gave me hell over the noise, cussing me out several times. one day I cussed him in Spanish, and the jerk understood

I look forward to seeing your photos and receiving your comments my friend, they are always interesting, and as an armchair explorer I get to see things It is likely I will not see for real, although I when I go for a walk with my wife along the canal I am glad I don't have to step over all those alligators. Don't let that presidents job get you down let someone else have a go if it gets to much It's not worth ruining your health and I hope your wife's parents are ok. Getting back to the job in hand I love this shot he is one lovely bird.

This is a great shot Dana, so glad to see it. About the condo stuff, maybe it's time to let some of this go to others who are younger. You have paid your dues man. My view is to try to spend all your time doing things that you enjoy doing, and that may include a bit of work too but that shouldn't keep you from doing what you want. I am on a path somewhat similar with my free photography thing but I have cut back on it a bit, and recently dissolved my publishing company which makes everything look better to me. Next step is a new camera, LOL!

I think these are so much prettier than cormorants, with those lovely white stripey feathers...it's always a pleasure to see what you're sharing with us, Dana, and I look forward to your comments. Thanks for sparing the time to be with us here!

Great capture Dana of this interesting bird and the information you provided. I joined a VFW post three years ago and my buddies and I have considered volunteering for a post position, but the positions are very demanding and I am afraid that it would take up most of my free time. Could you resign any time or you have to serve out a term as president of the condo association? .

Now THERE is a handsome bird and a touching bit of writing as well; humans expressing themselves is always a good thing. The pleasure goes both ways as well (now if only I could get that pesky job thing out of the way!) though I don't get to Renderosity as much as I'd like to...as much as I once did. Ah, but when I get here, I get to see stuff like this. Being from Chicago, I can say, we don't have birds like this one here. That's Chicago's loss! This is such a handsome creature and such a great photo.

A fine shot of this wonderful bird with its' glorious markings.

Easter has come and gone, by now! and I do hope, that you had some sort of a reprieve from your steady and constant care, my thoughts are with you and your wife Dana, stay strong! ... I never had the pleasure of experiencing some quality parents time, my Mother died, when I was 4 years old, instead I was growing up with relatives - hardly knew my Father, only his abuse, and I could have done without a fierce Stepmother ;( so you see, life wasn't meant to be easy; at least you have some nice memories to cherish forever ... BTW - this a unique and a great capture here. BB
