Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

It is amazing how pets can barge in and add so much enjoyment to life. I am sorry to hear of the loss of Barger. I love the photo. the shadows add interest.. I love the crooked smile on the man in the picture also. Nice work. And what a lovely photo to remember a favorite pet.

I never met Barger, but I can see his personality in this photo. Dogs are such amazing people, OK...people of the canine species, but people nonetheless, and this is an excellent way to remember someone important. To top it off, it's a nice photo and a perfect memorial. (Though I'm a cat person, I can definitely say that in terms of companion animals, they're all the same in that they bring add something to humanity, and our ability to live with companion animals says quite a lot about what THEY are able to bring to us, for free.) This is a wonderful shot, nicely touching on multiple levels. Barger is a cutie, and that's the part that live on.

Nothing quite tugs at the heart like a dog. And when they're gone it leaves a hole. I still remember my Blackie and she's been gone for 47 years. You can tell Barger was a great dog. This is a wonderful image. I am sorry for your loss.

Sad news. My dog Bob has just come out of surgery a few hours ago. They took tumors out and the stitches go virtually all around his mid-section. He is trotting around without even so much as a limp! Barger looked like a great dog.

A great age for a dog that size. He had a super life and a brilliant owner.

Barger was a good age BUT that doesn't mean it is any easier to loose a best friend. Take care. xx

Sorry to hear about Barger. My Mom recently lost both her cats. Emma (Peel), was 17, and Sammy (Davis, Jr) was 18.
