Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Lines, angles, shadows...so much to like!

Intense line designs here. What a great shot. As bmac62 said, "So much to like".

That is very nice! Wish it were close to here as it would be great for photographing women around there.
prutzworks
brilliant compo and light/shadow play!
durleybeachbum
FAB pic! A very satisfying composition.

Outstanding composition, POV, sharp contrast and repetition in this marvelous black and white, Maz. And Chicago has become a killing field, with a very high rate of murders. I'm not sure if it was like that when you were there.

great geometry!

LOVE this!! I don't know where it is either, but wow ... NICE!

I know EXACTLY where this is, and you took it with me, because I have almost the same shot in my collection. Not Chicago, but Seattle, right down on the waterfront. Great shot!

Lol, thanks, Denise--talk about a memory lapse!!

It's very good! Only the lines maybe ...

What a shot! I love the lines! The curves...the light and shadow. The memory lapse, as Denise describes, is so typical of the sort of thing that happens to me. To quote the Chumbawumba song with a title I can't recall: "Do you suffer from short term mem-o-ry loss?" "I don't remember." I like this shot a lot! It's so clean, crisp, and elegant. Very modern.

Quite interesting composition.

The Chumbawamba song is called straightforwardly enough, "Amnesia." A feeling I've developed almost all the time these days. So nice to know that this is Seattle, as I was thinking I'd completely lost it trying to figure out where in Chicago this was. When I first clicked on it, it reminded me of an almost forgotten (early Eighties?) commercial for perfume or something where people were walking on giant piano keys while "I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire" played. But that's just me... Great shot.
