Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I peek in at your gallery, after still needing to catch up, and you zap me with an awesome zinger like this!? WOW! This is one of those intense, eye-grabbing, giggle-inducing, brilliant dances of color that make this a distinct beachzz-esque shot. This is so you that I half expect to learn that this photograph was taken while wearing green flip flops. Seriously, it's really super-good. When I saw the thumbnail, I thought you'd dipped your toe in fractal rendering...that 2D abstract kind of fractal rendering, only to zoom in on full view and go: "Oh my gods! That's not a fractal. It's a photo." Which just goes to show that I should read where images are posted rather than just go "ooh" and click. This rocks. Feel free to post more of these. Oh, and did I mention that I like this shot and that it's a frakkin' awesome photo? Hehe...you just made me say awesome. That takes some doin'.

Superb contrast and lighting to bring out the various effects on the lily pads, Maz.

They look like an old Chinese fan I have. Wonderful contrast detail.

I love these pads; they remind me of floating nebulae in space!

At first I thought about sperm and eggs, what was I thinking, but then I put my glasses on, (really), and once again I was thrilled at another work of excellent and inspiring art.

At first I thought this was some kind of interesting sci-fi space ship rendering, but then I opened it and it was an even cooler shot of sci-fi like lily pads. I love shots like this that make you stop and notice how odd and beautiful things you're used to seeing really are. Great shot and detail.
