Description

Yosemite National Park is in the central eastern portion of California, United States. The park covers an area of 761,268 acres (3,080.74 km2) and reaches across the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain chain. The park has an elevation up to 13,114 feet (3,997 meters). The most famous landmark is Half Dome and that is the high point in the center of the photo. This Black and white photo was taken, in the mid 1970s, from Glacier Point. The original photo was scanned and I lost some details. If you zoom and look to the right you will find the 594 foot (181 meter) Nevada waterfall. Some information from Wikipedia. The waterfall was easy to spot, so can one actually climb that mountain? BTW this has similar characteristics to our Mount Warning in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, but with an elevation of only 1156m (3793 ft) and you can climb it! ;)) 'maybe an oldie - but a goodie' - Dana, BB
