Haven't been in Arches for quite some time. Not so sure you can still do what we use to do climbing around with all the traffic now. Good to see the rock is still defying gravity! Nice clear capture Bill!

Wow, neat shot. I wonder when that rock will finally decide to tumble down. Great capture while it still stands!

What a perfect capture! The colours are so beautifully balanced (not to mention the rock, LOL!) I'd love to see this in person, but it would be just my luck that as I stood below focusing up something would cause the rock that's balanced for so long to come bouncing down onto me!

You know, the geological explanation is that this is the result of weathering and erosion, but the truth of the matter is (and people are keeping quiet about this) some prehistoric kid just put it up there like that, because--as we all know--toy blocks back in those days were just...well...rocks. Hmmm...I somehow think that hypothesis holds as much water as a window screen! Oh well...it was still a fun thought. I really like the sense of scale in this shot. I mean you told us the dimensions of the business in question, but you've gone the extra mile and showed it to us in a way that really drives that point home. This is big. And it's impressively red. I like that iron oxide color and the shapes are amazing! Really fine shootin' here!

I'm with Chipka on this, though I think I would probably have a go at dislodging this given half a chance. :) Great "tension" in the photo & a must zoom.

Fantastic capture Bill. These things always make me think of 'what if'. What if there were an earthquake powerful enough to shake the ground hard enough to dislodge this nicely balance rock.

It reminds me of some cartoon fish I've seen. From it's expression, I would say it just woke up after an eventful evening of partying to realize that something is seriously amiss. Great capture! Beautiful colors and detail.
