On Aviation and Photography:
"You haven't seen a tree until you've seen its shadow from the sky." -- Amelia Earhart
“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

This is like watching a quilt being sewn/knitted. The apple blossom colors are coming in, but they're not done yet. The rest of the quilt is falling into place. But it's not done yet. It will be...but for now, there's some pink here, some green there, a nice little boat making waves way over thataway, but the other colors are still offstage, awaiting their cue so that they can come out and join the dance. The clouds are already at it, but they're like that: quick. But right now, the other things are just starting. I love shots with that feeling: that wonderful anticipation. Soon, there will be more blossoms, and then there will be apples. Later. A few days after tomorrow. I like this!

Here is another 'Million dollar' view, (the other one was Andrea' s West Cliff, zig-zag) this is such a nice rural and peaceful and pristine looking landscape, BIG WOW factor! I am also looking forward to see an actual close-up of those apple blossoms ;) - my guess it depends on it, if you are 'nesting' there long enough? ;)) BB

Your shots make me drool lol! I love to get that camera, but I know they are about to come out with a newer model soon and I want to wait until then! Was surprised to see you backtrack to Washington with your post. You got to have tons of good shots in Utah by now!

Ooh, I love the geography along the Columbia; so many different things to see, and all so lovely. This vista is especially wonderful because there seems to be just about anything you might want to see all in one shot. And the sky has just the perfect amount of clouds for counterpoint interest! Well captured, Bill!

You mean there really was a Sam Hill (as in "what the Sam Hill")? Great distance shot of the apple orchards, along with the village of Maryhill and environs, Bill.

I think if you look up "sweeping vista" in the dictionary, you'll see this photo at the top of the description. What a spectacular capture, Bill!
