Description
Well, after my admittedly very primitive flower identification skills were called into question yesterday, I thought I'd play it safe & just go with generic weeds this time. Which also gives me the opportunity to share one of my favorite pieces of wisdom:
"A weed is a plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
I first read that several decades ago & it always stuck with me. And while I took it very literally & discovered many fantastic weeds & their virtues as a result, the more important idea to me was that every living thing has a value independent of their usefulness to our own species. Dylan thought the Answer was "blowin' in the wind", but I think it may be "buried in the weeds"...
This photo will appear in a different form tomorrow, but I liked the simplicity of this one (before I started to muck around with it), so posted it first...

I love the grain in the wood fence and the grain of the grain, possibly oat grass. Whatever variety, wheat, oats or rye, your weeds are certainly of a higher class of weed than those on display in my yard. Nice photo!!

wonderfully subtle colours, such a seemingly simple subject lifted to artistic heights

I really like this one. I thought it was an old fence, then I noticed the screws.

I like the mulitplicity of the contrasts. Soft weeds, hard wood; nature vs manmade; green and yellow vs brown and red. The grass also looks like little boys saying "let me in, let me in."

The shape of those grass heads is really nice, especially against the wood grain. Beautifully done!

Fantastic shot. Superb textures and color contrast.

A weed is just a plant that's growing where you don't want it. I like this as a basic image (I saw the other one first). Top notch stuff!

I live the pale tall grass against the darker fence. Almost looks like wheat!
