Description
I usually don't go back & rework images I've posted, but in the case of the one I posted yesterday, the fact that there was so much consensus of opinion made me look at it again & I decided that the criticism was correct. So I made that rectangular element smaller, faded it & applied some color changes to it. And while I was at it, I couldn't resist tweaking the rest of the image a little more also by adding some glow effects. In answer to mtdana's question, the rectangular element is a sign (which I distorted to obscure the lettering) for the trail that this fence is on - which is located in historic Jacksonville. And in response to chipka's comment, the eyes are actually photos of water drops which I pasted onto the lids - the buddha's eyes are actually closed & I pasted on "eyes" to create a kind of double image in which his eyes are both open & closed.
Thanks to all who took the trouble to leave some constructive criticism...

I see you have played with it a bit!

There is a tradition (In Sri Lanka) in which the Buddha's eyes are the last things painted onto an image of the Buddha, and the thing is, they cannot be painted on in the normal way, the master eye painter must paint the eyes with his back turned to the image he's painting and so he's required to paint the eyes over his shoulder. I thought of that as I read your description of what into this and I wondered if you put open eyes on, while facing away from your workspace. Probably not. I like this image quite a lot. I liked the previous image as well. This has a nicely weathered feel to it, as did the other one, but this one is a bit more slippery in all of the best ways. Playing with images is such fun and looking at the end result is as much fun. this is great.

Yes, nicely done; I like it better with the sign faded too.

Much better....and it shows you care about others and what they think. That's a good thing. I wish there were more constructive comments instead of the "Wonderful" cliche.

I like it. You took the critique in a postive way, unlike some preema donnas, and made your work even better for it.

It is so much more interesting now with the sign element less important. A great second effort showing that comments can help us all improve!

Huh. Well, I liked the first one, but I like this one even better! The overall tone is more harmonious, which seems appropriate, given the subject matter. I'm glad you reworked the image ... this is an improvement, imho.

I love the zoom and I liked the reduction of the sign. I also like that with all of your postwork - you did not distort your Buddha!
