My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I love this image. There's something classic Star Trek-ish about it: something that probably lingers in an un-produced, classic script, involving "The Undersecretary of the Guardian of the Portal of A-temporal Eternity" on some planet ending with a number written in Roman numerals. Or maybe that's just me. In fact, now that I think about it, it's probably just me being desperate to refer to Star Trek in some way. Now, as for this picture. I love the fact that this isn't all of Stonehenge, or even Neo Stonehenge or Stonehenge !!. It's just a small portion, but then there's this vast expanse out there with a wind-farm in it as well. I love the contrasts...the stone dolmen up close and those hyper-modern windmills in the distance, and then there's the rolling grassland, the farmland, the open, really open land. And I'm sure that there's a story lurking in here. I love this shot!

Traveling from place to place as the wind takes you. That is a wonderful life.

So the nomads are coming home to their summer pasture. This does have an ancient look to it. And the barely seen windmills give an impression that we are looking past Stonehenge towards a dimly seen future. A great shot.

The light is very good on this Tara, super image.

It is interesting to see what Stonehenge would have looked like new. This looks so modern and mall-like compared to the ancient site which is not that far from me! I do have photos of me as a toddler there when you were still allowed to stand on the fallen stones. You have made a terrific composition, and we expect no less!

Excellent shot!

Beautiful colors and light! I love the textures of the stones and the view seen between them. I don't think that Chip was totally desperate because the view through the stones makes me think of a certain Star Trek episode. I would not be surprise (well, perhaps a bit surprised) to see the scene shift to another world. There is a magical atmosphere that makes the stones seem like portals to other realities. I love the shades and colors of the land beyond and the wind turbines on the hills. gorgeous shot!

Cool shot of something unusual and makes it feel like it was when first built.....but without the sacrifices! lol Rob
